ometepe and rivas nicarauga

So, I was getting mixed opinions on whether or not to go to isla de ometepe, I decided to go based on the most recent conversation I had.

Ometepe is an island with 2 volcanoes. One of the main reasons to go is to hike the volcano. I knew I was not going to do an 8 hour hike. I went to just relax.

A fellow traveler suggested I stay at el Zopitole, which is a hostel on An organic farm. As I think I mentioned previously the problem with advice from somebody you just met Is you don't know how good the advice is.

The place was okay, not great. The biggest thing that I found lacking was a fan!

I stayed one night and the next day went to ojo de agua. This is a natural mineral spring pool that is supposed to have medicinal benefits and make you younger. With all of these mineral baths I am taking I should be getting really young.

In the afternoon I took a bus to the ferry, which takes about 2 hours, then waited 30 minutes for the ferry with the intent of taking a taxi to the bus to get to San Juan del sur.

Apparently I missed the last bus to sjds so I am spending the night in Rivas.

On a side note they have big ferries and little ferries to and from the island. on the way to the island I was going to take the large Ferry because it is better for avoiding motion sickness problems. Somebody I met on the bus wanted to take the cheaper one and since it was an hour until the next big ferry I went on the smaller one.

thankfully it was not like the boat ride I did with Gary in Puerto Rico where they were giving out a lot of motion sickness bags.

on the way back today I could taje the big ferey or wait an hour for the small one so I took the big one. The big one cost 2.80 the small one 1.40.

I am starting to understand why I can bear the cold showers. It looks like the humidity today was 83 percent. not like sf.
