granada and catarina nicaragua

I am liking it here in Granada. Nice architecture and friendly people and the city is not too big or too small.. I was going to leave twice now but I am still here. I will probably leave in the next day or two.

Mainly relaxing, went to more churches and a couple of museums. There is a volcano you can go to but I hear it is not worth the cost to get there. There are also las isletas which are more than 300 small islands formed by the volcano.  Similarly I heard it was interesting but not worth the cost.  I tried to look into going the other day but apparently I did not walknfar enough.

I found a restaurant in lonely planet that is a small family restaurant. The menu changes each day. I have been there three days in a row. Lots of good quality food and inexpensive.

Today is/was my big splurge day,.,.moved to a private room near the bars and restaurants, got a one hour massage paid to use a swimming pool for a repreive from the heat and going to a relatively expensive restaurant for dinner.

I took a bus to catarina the other day. There is a beautiful lookout point.

Next stop ometepe islands and then San juan del sur with a day trip to LA Flor to see the sea turtles.

A funny story I forgot.... When I was in LA libertad I put my things in the room and locked the door. The key would not work. They tried every key they had no luck.  They then took slats out of the window and tried reaching with hands and then feet. Eventually they got it open and gave me a new room.

When I tried the key in the new room you did not even need to insert it fully. Anything would unlock it. I don't know if my first room was the same or not

Dinner is served, pictures later.

Later....
BTW I recently realized that when I add photos the last uploaded picture is not posted. So pictures are missing I just don't know which ones

 Pictures of the old hospital

 An old fort

Views from the top of one of the churches

 View from Catarina
She wanted a picture with me so I took one with her

 Distant rain

 Funeral procession pictures I assume

Even the ducks want to beat the heat. First they drank, then they swam, then they dove in. They let people get verrry close
