this blog thing is a lot of "work"

Please let me know if you are reading it.

Yesterday I went on two visits on my own...xunantinich and canal pech. Both were interesting Mayan sites with the first being more interesting than the second.

There was a company on the first tour that had a guide and sort of let me join them, which was very nice. The officials came by to talk to them because they had too many people. I thought it was because of me but it was not. The maximum was 15 and they had 22 not including me.

The buttonholer and light up cube have been big hits. I even show little children the lite up cubes and they love it. If I had more cubes I would have brought them. Everybody wants to keep them.

I showed the buttonholed to jimmy and an attorney who was there. The attorney liked the puzzle so much that he bought me not 1, not 2 but 3 beers!

I loaned jimmy the lite up cube and went back to get it with but jimmy wanted to keep it longer. I said okay and I would get it after milan and i had dinner.

When we went back they were unexpectedly getting ready to start a beauty pageant.  If we had gotten there a few minutes earlier we would have been judges....timing.

Today I went to monkey river falls. It was the only waterfall easily accessible for me.  It was just okay....a very small falls. Thankfully it was a short hike because one of my hiking sandals broke almost immediately. I then grabbed a quick lunch and headed to Guatemala.

The hostel in Guatemala was recommended by Milan and has great reviews. It is San Miguel which is a peninsula across from Flores. The hostel is called chaltunha. A shared room is $5 USD. They even have a pool here.

We got here about an hour ago and it just started raining heavily. At least it waited until we checked in.

I will probably do the final ruins tomorrow... The later tour 4:30 am instead of the 3:00 am because I hear it is too cloudy to see the sunrise so it makes no sense to pay more and get up earlier.

  4. Hey where did all my posts go??? No wonder you didn't see them and comment on the name for my gmail account.

The Twins will definitely go green with envy when I show them all the Mayan Ruins you've been to.

Have fun, the cats, the dogs, the twins and the Put Puts are all doing well.
