On August 1st I booked my fights. I leave on August 22 for Belize and will work my way down Central and South America probably flying home from Buenos Aires on January 8, 2014.
I bought a 70L backpack and was overwhelmed by its size and all of the straps. I spoke to a great guy at sea to summit products and based on his excellent advice switched to an Osprey Farpoint 55L TRAVEL pack.
Now I am intimidated by how small it is! It will be great carrying around something so light and with easy access but hard to believe I will get everything I need into it.
My Brazilian passport should be available today and I already have my visa for China which will now be 2014 instead of 2013.
I bought a dual SIM phone for the trip and am researching some SIM card options so people can reach me if i am not at a wifi spot in case of emergency.
