When getting (travel) advice one needs to consider the source.
I took the 5 hour bus ride from lanquin to Rio dulce. a fellow traveler was doing the same route and said that somebody he had met stayed at and recommended kangaroo hostel. Based on that I changed my plans. The hostel is nice but everything here is expensive....room, folks etc. Based on that we are going to change hostels for tomorrow night and then head to Honduras the next day....,unless I/we go to Livingston for a day which is near Rio dulce.
